Environmental Concerns? This Density Meter is Safest to Use

The Buster density meter from Campbell/Harris Security Equipment Company (CSECO) has been recognized as the “gold standard” of density meters. It is hailed not only for its overall performance and durability but also for its safety.

The Buster K910B density meter is the first version launched by CSECO way back in the 1980s. It was developed, designed, and tested by the company founder Patrick J. Harris with the direct input from the US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) field agents.

Before getting to the safety part, first, let’s go to the things that make the Buster excellent. First of all, it’s the sophisticated technology that it uses. It emits a low-intensity gamma radiation and a scintillation detector. So what does that mean? It can do a lot of things that will help law enforcement do their job in locating and seizing contraband in just a matter of minutes.

The Buster can be used to scan many different types of materials that include wood, metal, reinforced plastic, concrete, even organic matter like soil and liquids. The Buster is commonly used, by CBP agents, for example, to inspect every vehicle that passes the major borders in the US. But it can also be used on anything and anywhere else, such parts of a space (wall, ceiling, and floors), container vans, furniture, and lots more.

Since its launch, the Buster has helped seize billions of dollars worth of narcotics, illegal drugs, tons of cash and other contraband such as alcohol, weapons, and explosives. That’s why the Buster is the most recommended contraband detection weapon widely used not only on the major borders but also at major checkpoints, airports, seaports, and terminals.

The Buster K910B has helped in stemming the flow of illegal drugs and smuggling. But there’s more — it has also helped protect people and the environment from the dangers of radioactivity. It has RAD-Aware technology which detects dangerous radioactive levels. Once the Buster detects it, the inspector (first responder) will be able to set up safe zones to keep other inspectors and civilians away from the dangers of the dirty bomb or radioactive leaks.

Despite the Buster having a long history of success in seizing drugs and contraband, CSECO hasn’t stopped making improvements on it. Recently, they launched a newer version of the Buster, the K910G, which emphasizes safety even more.

The Buster K910G has pretty much the same features and functions as the K910B, but it is now made a lot safer for use and for the environment. The smaller radioactive source (at least 25% smaller than any other density meter) and the elimination of all potentially harmful lead components (that are present in the K910B) makes the Buster K910G the safest density meter out there. Buster K910G also now has faster electronics.

Why would you look for other density meters when the Buster K910G Density Meter is there to answer all your inspection needs? It has been long proven in stemming the flow of drugs and other contraband, has the ability to detect traces of radioactivity, and is now much safer than ever to use.

Law Enforcement Product News Announced CT-40 Contraband Team Detection Kit

The CT-40 Contraband Team Detector Kit from Campbell/Harris Security Equipment Company (CSECO) is mentioned in the Law Enforcement Product News July/August issue. The 32-page digital magazine affiliated with Officer.com, features contraband detection equipment and related tools that law enforcement agents use on a day-to-day basis. It also features other news and info that law enforcement officers will find valuable.

This article will explain what was in Law Enforcement Product News report:

CSECO’s CT-40 Contraband Team Detection Kit, aka CT-40, was released in February 2014. It is the successor of the CT-30 Contraband Team Detection Kit which has been in use by law enforcement agencies for years for the purposes of narcotics detection and other contraband.

The contents of the CT-30 kit included the Buster K910B Density Meter, the PN-Series Inspection Probe Kit, the FO-Series Articulated Fiberscope, Leica Laser Range Meter, PM-10 Extension Inspection Mirror with High Intensity Flashlight, and CT-30 Customer Carrying Case with Wheels.

The CT-40 kit has most of the tools included in the CT-30, but it is upgraded with the one-piece visual inspection unit, the Perfect Vision V20 Videoscope Inspection System, which replaces the FO-Series Fiberscope. CSECO pays attention to their clients and applies what they hear into their products. Agents requested to CSECO that they wanted a fiberscope that was much safer to use as well as more user-friendly. Hearing this, the company team went to develop and design what turned out to be the Perfect Vision V20 Videoscope. It features the most cutting-edge technology for conducting visual inspections. The Perfect Vision V20 Videoscope is the one and only videoscope to be certified “safe” by the Underwriters Laboratory, the world’s leading authority on product safety. This means that the Perfect Vision V20 can be used in hazardous areas such as fuel tanks.

The Perfect Vision V20 has many features that are the same as those in the FO-Series Fiberscope in the CT-30 kit — 2mx6mm tungsten-coated shaft equipped with 2-way articulation and built with high-intensity LED lighting, as well as rechargeable batteries that last long. What has been improved is the videoscope’s high-resolution 5-inch color LCD screen which allows the officers for a one-piece procedure; they won’t anymore have to attach cumbersome accessories such as cables and wires. The big screen also allows for lesser eye fatigue, which agents and officers usually experience while using fiberscopes.

The big LCD screen also allows the officers to see more clearly what they are inspecting while maintaining their visibility and awareness in their surroundings. This is something that fiberscopes cannot do because officers are not able to be visually cognizant of their surroundings due to the fact that they had to keep their head down and stay focused on the fiberscope’s viewfinder while doing inspections. And many agents believe this is putting concern on their safety. They won’t find such issues with the Perfect Vision V20.

The Perfect Vision V20 also has a push-button dimming and digital zoom. It also has on-board storage via an SD card slot which allows the device to store up to 8,000 high-resolution photos or six hours of video files. With this device, the agents can do it all without the need for bothersome attachments.

However, the most important aspect of the Perfect Vision V20 is the safety feature. The company’s president Tony Harris revealed they worked with the Underwriters Laboratory to make sure that the visual inspection tool is safe to use in high-risk locations such as fuel tanks. Harris said: “We want our users to feel confident they can use the videoscope as they always have their fiberscopes.” But no other fiberscope or videoscope has been guaranteed “safe” like CSECO’s Perfect Vision V20 Videoscope, recognition that the company is proud of.

CSECO’s Director of Global Business Development Damaune Journey stated: “The CT-40 will provide everything officers have come to love about the CT-30, and then some. If you found the fiberscope useful just wait until you use the Perfect Vision Videoscope.”

Is a Density Meter Used to Detect Narcotics Accurate?

It is very important that a density meter, which interdiction officers and Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agents use, should be accurate in locating contraband. This is needed because if the density meter is not accurate in pinpointing the presence of narcotics or other contraband, then the results will be doubtful. It could hamper any legal actions against the parties who are being accused of smuggling narcotics or other contraband types.

Due to the escalating incidences of smuggling drugs and contraband, it is necessary to have an trustworthy contraband detecting tool. Thanks to high technology, we have more sophisticated, easy-to-use, and portable contraband detectors that have the astonishing ability to locate even minute particles of drug residue. These tools are sold by several institutions and organizations at competitive prices, and many of them are quite reliable, durable, and fully functional. However, the Buster K910B Density Meter is considered the “gold standard” by Customs and Border Protection agents and law enforcement.

Detecting narcotics and other contraband can be done by either bulk detectors or trace detectors. Bulk detectors will show hoards of narcotics, other illegal substances, or other contraband. Trace detectors, on the other hand, will show when items have been carried by the ones who have also carried narcotics. Some contraband detection tools are able to identify tiny bits of drugs or even fumes. Such detection tools will greatly enable interdiction officers to know when a closer investigation is warranted.

Most contraband detection tools function by scanning for density. One of these tools is the Buster K910B Density Meter from Campbell/Harris Security Equipment Company (CSECO). The company also manufactures other contraband detection tools that allow for a much closer inspection and actual visibility of the materials or spaces inspected, such as the Perfect Vision® V20 Videoscope Inspection System. CSECO also makes probe kits which allow law enforcement officers to probe into many kinds of materials suspected of hiding contraband. When these tools are used separately, officers will have a higher likelihood of finding concealed contraband such as narcotics and illegal substances. But when used together, they make an unbeatable combination!

Since CBP agents and interdiction officers are fully experienced in the typical density of both regular items and contraband ones, the Buster sends the positive indication that there may be something hidden beneath the materials or surfaces being scanned — whether they be a luggage, vehicle, furniture, containers, and many others. To allow interdiction officers to scan the more inaccessible areas, they can use the Perfect Vision® V20 Videoscope. This one-piece tool features an articulated fiberscope which is also equipped with a built-in LED light as well as a camera, which can take both photos and videos. In case the videoscope cannot penetrate into the material being inspected, CSECO’s metal probe sticks will do the job. Designed with grooves, these probe sticks can be inserted to withdraw and obtain which may also be examined to verify whether this sample is an illegal substance or isn’t.

When interdiction agents use the Buster, the Perfect Vision® V20 Videoscope, and the probe sticks separately, they already provide accurate results. But when officers use them along with any of the other tools, the chances of accurate reading is increased until there is very little or no room for inaccuracies.

Now, here’s the question — does your current density meter and other contraband detection tool you use provide accurate results? Maybe you have realized that the equipment you’re using is not quite up to your expectations as far as accuracy is concerned. Go to CSECO for top-of-the-line, world-class contraband detection equipment including the Buster, the “gold standard” density meter, and you will never have to worry about inaccurate results ever again.

What Makes the Buster K910B Density Meter Stand Out Among Other Contraband Detectors?

The Buster K910B Density Meter aka Buster is the first and still the most recommended contraband detection tool manufactured by Campbell-Harris Security Equipment Company (CSECO). It is widely used by police and other law enforcement agents around the country, as well as the Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers in detecting drugs, narcotics, cash and other contraband and smuggled items.

What makes the Buster stand out among other contraband detecting tools? Well for one thing, it uses the latest technology that makes the Buster a cutting-edge density meter and detection tool. It uses a low-intensity gamma radiation emitter and scintillation detector — both amazing features that enable agents and inspectors to scan for any type of contraband and any type of surface being scanned, quickly and efficiently.

Forget the other contraband detection tools that use much older technologies such as ultraviolet wave, millimeter wave, microwave or radio wave. These kinds of technologies render the other tools limited in their detecting capability. They can scan one or two types of material, or can detect just a few hidden items. The Buster’s abovementioned features enable it to detect and locate a variety of contraband material, as well as on various type of surfaces like wood, metal, rubber and reinforced plastic and concrete, among many others.

When agents and inspectors use the Buster, they don’t have to externally damage shipping containers, tear up the walls, destroying furniture, etc. They would do so only when the Buster positively confirms the presence of a hidden contraband. How? The device has both audible and visual readouts which gives the indication that contraband is indeed present. The audible alarm makes a sound when contraband is located. Its LCD display provides a clear and positive indication that such anomalies are indeed located on a certain area being scanned.

Like any other density meters, the Buster measures the density of any object being scanned against the density that is known for that material. When the Buster positively sends any indication of a contraband, it signals the officers/agents to do a thorough investigation.

Detecting hidden narcotics and other concealed drugs — either illegal or legally prescribed — is still a tough one to crack. Thanks to the advancement of technology, CSECO was able to come up with a contraband detection tool that is foolproof, durable, reliable, effective, providing concrete results, portable, easy to use and safe. The Buster seems to have all these qualities! That’s why is the best tool of its kind not only for narcotics detection but also contraband detection purposes.

Echoing the home shopping channel cliché: but wait, there’s more! The Buster can detect not only narcotics and contraband, but it can also locate the presence of radiation. The Buster is now equipped with the RAD-Aware technology, which enables it to detect and identify any indication of radioactive material. This allows first responders to establish safety perimeters from a possible dirty-bomb detonation or any radioactive release.

The Buster K910B is the product of CSECO’s combined technologies and brilliant innovation. That’s why it still remains the “gold standard” for contraband detection to many law enforcement agencies not only in the US but around the world as well.

These qualities, features and functions make the Buster K910B Density Meter to stand out among all other contraband detection tools. For more information, contact CSECO by calling 510-864-8010 or sending an email to info@cseco.com.
