Updating the CT-30 Contraband Team Detection Kit

Updating the CT-30 Contraband Team Detection KitThe CT-30 Contraband Team Detection Kit from Campbell/Harris Security Equipment Company (CSECO) has everything you need for efficient and results-oriented anti-contraband operations. If you have not used the kit yet and are not familiar with it, here’s what it contains:

  • Buster K910G density meter (it used to be the Buster K910B density meter)
  • FV-Series Articulated Fiberscope
  • PN-Series Inspection Probe Kit
  • Leica Laser Range Meter
  • PM-10 Extension Inspection Mirror with High Intensity Flashlight
  • CT-30 Customer Carrying Case with Wheels

However, CSECO still aimed to improve the kit by upgrading it to CT-40 Contraband Team Inspection Kit. Basically, it is just like the CT-30 kit but only with the addition of the Perfect Vision V20 Videoscope Inspection System, which replaces the FV-Series Articulated Fiberscope.

Even though we know that you have loved the old fiberscope, the Perfect Vision V20 Videoscope Inspection System promises to perform even better than the former.

Fiberscopes typically feature a small eyepiece which you can look into while inserting the flexible optical fiber bundle into an item or area suspected of carrying contraband. But in the Perfect Vision V20 Videoscope, there’s no eyepiece, but instead it features a large, multi-directional, high-resolution color LCD monitor which also includes a push-button dimming and digital zoom feature. No need to squint into anything because the large display of the Perfect Vision V20 Videoscope allows you to have a clearer look into the area without losing visibility to your surroundings. The display produces clearer images without causing you eye fatigue.

The videoscope’s long, thin and flexible articulating shaft is protected by a fuel-resistant coating. It ends with a powerful LED light source which is ideal for inspecting in darker areas, or during nighttime inspections. The difference between the Perfect Vision V20 videoscope and the fiberscope is that the former uses a high-quality chip video technology in the tip construction instead of the typical glass fibers that the fiberscope has. This makes the Perfect Vision V20 Videoscope more durable, and less likely to suffer damage that leads to less frequent and costly repairs. Fiberscopes have glass fibers which tend to break easily, especially when used often.

The Perfect Vision V20 Videoscope Inspection System is the first visual inspection tool to have met the Underwriters Laboratory (UL) safety requirements and thus is certified safe to use in hazardous environments.

The Buster density meter, as we all know, is the “gold standard” of contraband detection. The Buster K910B has been upgraded to the new Buster K910G, which uses the same technology – the low intensity gamma radiation emitter and back scatter scintillation detector for quick and accurate scanning. But compared to the K910B, the K910G has no lead-based components and its radioactive source is now 25% less than most density meters on the market – making the Buster safe for humans and the environment!

The Buster K910G is a user-friendly tool – just hold it against the object you are about to inspect and start scanning it. Turn the Buster on by squeezing its trigger. When you wave or sweep the Buster across the object you’re scanning, it will make a beeping sound if the Buster detects a noticeable change in the object’s density. In the Buster’s LCD display, you can also see the change in the object’s density in numbers. Once the Buster positively detects the contraband hidden inside that object, it will sound off an alarm that alerts the user to the contraband.

Also included in the CT-40 kit: the 5-piece PN-Series Inspection Probe Kit, the Leica Laser Range Meter®, the PM-10 Extension Inspection Mirror with High Intensity Flashlight, and the CT-40 Customer Carrying Case with Wheels. Note: The Buster-On-A-Stick Extension Pole is NOT included in the kit.
