Campbell/Harris Security Equipment Company (CSECO) provides narcotics interdiction equipment to local, national, and federal enforcement agencies not just all over the United States, but in many parts of the world as well.
While CSECO offers several contraband detection tools in their lineup, there are two that stand out the most: the Buster K910G Density Meter and the Perfect Vision V20 Videoscope Inspection System.
If you are quite familiar with CSECO’s products, you might have heard of the Buster. It is the company’s first and most well-known product, designed and developed by its founder Patrick J. Campbell with the input from the Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agents, who also used the prototypes for field-testing before they became finally available for merchandise.
Throughout its existence and after a couple of modifications, the Buster has always used the same technology that has proven to be effective in detecting and locating contraband: the low-intensity gamma radiation emitter and scintillation detector, which enables quick, accurate and thorough inspections.
Other contraband detectors that use microwave, millimeter wave, radio wave, or ultraviolet wave technologies have limited scanning/detecting capabilities. The Buster, using the abovementioned technology, has the ability to identify different types of concealed items ranging from narcotics to cash to weapons through various materials like wood, metal, reinforced plastic, even organic matter like dirt and liquids.
No more second-guessing or dismantling of the items being scanned – just hover the Buster over or against the surfaces of the suspected objects. You’ll know that an object is hiding something it when the Buster reads an unusual spike of its density level (take normally hollow object – such as a car tire – which is stuffed with something else for instance) and sends out audible and visual alarms to alert the user about the possible presence of a hidden contraband. Because of the Buster, inspections have been made quicker and more accurate.
Having been developed by no less than the CBP agents gives the Buster another proof of dependability and credibility. Its newest feature, the RAD-Aware, warns the user of the presence of radioactive leaks, prompting the user (first responder) to establish safety boundaries to protect people and animals from the threats of radiation.
The Buster comes as one unit – you may purchase the separate Buster-on-a-Stick, a telescoping extension pole where you can attach the Buster, allowing you to scan areas that are previously unreachable or inaccessible.
The Perfect Vision V20 Inspection System is considered currently one of the best videoscopes on the market – or one of the best visual inspecting tools for that matter.
Unlike other videoscopes or fiberscopes, the Perfect Vision V20 Videoscope has a large, multi-directional LCD color monitor that’s equipped with a push-button dimming and digital zoom (10x to the resolution of other visual inspecting tools) – giving clear and crisp images of the areas you’re inspecting.
The long, thin and flexible shaft can be inserted into areas that are inaccessible. The shaft is also fuel-resistant.
The Perfect Vision V20 videoscope is the first videoscope on the market awarded with the safety certification by the Underwriters Laboratory (UL). It doesn’t cause accidental spark or fire even when used in risky areas like fuel tanks.
The Buster density meter and the Perfect Vision V20 Videoscope are both great separately. But when used together, they can be the most formidable narcotics interdiction equipment to fit the needs of every law enforcement agent.
